I’ve also been deliberate in my interactions with my baby, attempting to understand his needs and respond to them in a manner that feels natural and loving.

Adapting my journey has also meant remaining flexible and open to change. I had plans for childbirth, nursing, and self-care, but when things didn’t transpire exactly as anticipated, I had to be willing to adapt and flow with the situation. Similarly, I’ve needed to be flexible in my approach to feeding and sleeping, experimenting with different strategies until I discovered what worked best for my baby and me. In fact, I’m still refining some approaches and won’t claim to have everything figured out until I’m certain I do.
